Case Management Services
ICM offers several types of Case Management for our clients. An assessment of your current disability
management strategy will determine which type of case management bests suits your current needs.
Field Based Case Management This type of case manager meets with the disabled employee in
person and on an as needed basis. The case manager attends physician appointments and has personal
contact with others that are involved in the direct care of the employee. These case managers are
traditionally assigned on a case by case basis.
Telephonic Case Management Telephonic case managers may be dedicated to an employer or used
on individual cases. They medically manage occupational and non-occupational claims and coordinate
the disabled employee's return to work. They may refer task assignments to field based case managers
when necessary.
On-site Case Management On-site case managers work at an employer's location. They can perform
field based or telephonic tasks. They provide medical management and vocational rehabilitation services,
and they are seamless members of the employer's disability management team.
URAC Accredited Pre-Certification/Utilization Management
Utilization Management is an evaluation of whether an episode of care (in-patient or out-patient) is medically necessary, is delivered in the most appropriate setting with the appropriate length of stay, and meets standards for quality of care. Utilization Management can take place before, during, or after the patient receives treatment. Pre-Certification and Utilization Management services are available for the property and casualty markets.
Provider and Hospital Bill Audits
ICM is dedicated to outstanding service and excellence in the arenas of Automated Medical Bill Review. ICM offers state of the art bill review services for auditing both facilities and providers. Using our automated system, ICM adjusts medical bills to conform with mandated fee schedules as well as usual and customary review. This would benefit both group health and property and casualty clients.
Medicare Set-Aside
ICM has the experience to assist with the Medicare Set-aside calculations required in major case settlements.
Life Care Planning
Life Care Planning is an innovative and comprehensive multi-disciplinary approach which systematically
documents the needs of catastrophically injured clients and projects the costs of needed goods and services
over the employee's estimated life span. This provides an effective means by which the adjuster, attorney,
rehabilitation professional, and others can manage and evaluate the case with a comprehensive listing of
needed services, costs, and frequency of treatment interventions.
